Cloudy today. It began to rain about four in p.m. Billie put his car into the garage for repair tonight. Betty home from school, teacher’s convention. I cooked. 2 bushels apples came today from Sanborn. Mama came home tonight from Ferns.

Friday, October 5, 1956

A very nice day, went to Fryeburg Fair today with Fern and family. Had a good time. Nice fair. Delores up here today. She is a terribly upset woman, hard life with Kennard. He drinks too much and is terribly mean at all times. Donnie a little uneasy today.

Saturday, October 6, 1956

Very nice day. Churned, cleaned up the house and cooked. Went to town before supper. Letter from Dorothea. Donnie sick.

Sunday, October 7, 1956

Rained very hard in the morning. Cleared about noon. Billie got his tires changed. Betty to church. Billie, Mama, Don and I went for a long ride in p.m. Donnie still sick.

Monday, October 8, 1956

A very nice day. I washed. Wrap Dorothea’s clothes she wanted mail to her. Also wrote to her. Donnie not so weak today.
