Nice day. Bill and Val dug cesspool and ditch. Our new toilet seat came.

Sunday, September 26, 1948

Bill and Evelyn called in a.m. Bill brought his power saw down and sawed  wood up. Bill down to mill and sawed slabs in p.m. Charlie and Jean called.

Monday, September 27, 1948

I washed. Mama came home from Dots tonight. Nice hot day.

Tuesday, September 28, 1948

Very nice hot day. I called on Delores in p.m. Bill down sawing wood tonight. Fern and Lloyd called in eve.

Wednesday, September 29, 1948

Nice warm day. Betty at Delores’. Mama not feeling good. She was down to Dot and Forrest’s for supper. Bill very lame. He and Val hauled shavings for hens. Lot of folks called in eve.

Bill still home lame. Not feeling good. He and Val got ready for chickens.

Bill still home lame. Worked in henhouse.
