March 25 - 31, 1944

Saturday, March 25, 1944 

Dorothea and Bill went to town. I did regular work. Rosie, Nancy, and Valmore Smart came up in p.m. Papa came home at 4 PM.

Sunday, March 26, 1944

Bill and Dorothea went over to Denmark (Ken Lords) and got 100 chicks $15. Kennard and Lloyd went over with him.

Monday, March 27, 1944

Wash today. Both kids to school. Took fingerprints at Billie’s school. Fern sick abed, had doctor. Mama still down there.

Tuesday, March 28, 1944

I ironed, cooked. Bill went to town. Both kids went to school. Wind blew hard all day. Fern still sick abed. 

Wednesday, March 29, 1944

Nice warm day. Betty and I went over to Aunt Linnies, in the carriage. I took Betty.

Thursday, March 30, 1944

It snowed and rained, a nasty day. Bill worked third shift. He telephoned me from Portland.

Friday, March 31, 1944

Bill got home about 8:30 AM from work. Sunny today but quite cold. Mother cat taken sick.
