September 8 - 11, 1974


Sunday, September 8, 1974 calf, Kids begin Sunday School

Cloudy and foggy when we got up but it cleared, it was quite mild. Bill finished up the roof and walls. In p.m. Betty had a family cookout. It was very good. I done regular work and a dite of washing. Billie went with Lawrence after cattle. Billie bought one of the calves they got yesterday. A full-blooded Durham.



Monday, September 9, 1974 foggy when we got up, it burned off

A quite nice day. Up early, done up my work. Betty called and decided she wanted to go to Portland instead of tomorrow so we got ready and she had Fern go with us to buy her machine. Fern bought a singer machine, no cabinet. A used one. We saw one Dorothea would like, she may get it. We had a nice day. Betty shop for Zak’s birthday. Didn’t get home very early.



Tuesday, September 10, 1974

Another partly cloudy day. Bill worked at Betty’s all day. I was down there all day too. Billie hauled SAWDUST for himself and Betty. Cliff got word today his brother died. Barton Deming in Florida.



Wednesday, September 11, 1974 3 PULLET EGGS

Cloudy all a.m. It cleared in p.m. I done regular work. Down to Betty’s in late a.m. till after Zak went to school. In p.m. I ironed. Betty took me to town. Bill and Billie dug the ditch to the barn for the waterpipes. Cliff left today by plane to go to Florida to be with his family for the funeral of his brother. We got three pullet eggs. Bill and Walt on a soil testing job after supper.
