Thursday, May 30, 1974 Christie still very sick

Well, cloudy and rainy when we got up this morning. It cleared at times during the day. It showered too. I went down to Betty’s. Esther and I did her dandelion greens. Betty did all of her lawns. Bill worked on the barn. Christie very weak and still sick. Lloyd called. Mr. Vose called. Both of their dogs had the same trouble as Christie has. They had them put to sleep. Billie got his check from the insurance company. A loan.

Another miserable day. I was down to Betty’s. She took me to town. Bill worked on the barn. It cleared late in p.m.

Saturday, June 1, 1974 Jeff called

Well it was raining this morning when we got up. It cleared at about noon. Bill, Billie and Walt worked on the barn. Kennard called and Lloyd. This morning early Jeffrey came, he brought his car up to the garage. He came right from work so he went to sleep. I cooked, washed floors. Kids and Betty here today. In evening I went over to Es. She was all alone. Cliff on a camping trip with the Scouts. Bill to work than over to Susan’s.

Sunday, June 2, 1974

A real nice day. Quite mild, yet some hazy. Hortons came up, they worked on the barn. I did a big wash. We cooked a rotisserie roast of beef outside but ate inside. Esther called, also Fern and Lloyd. Kids had a good time up here today. Barbara Gammon’s boy and his girlfriend were found dead in a car up on the old Sam Ridlon place. Carbon monoxide poisoning, accident. A leak in the exhaust pipe.
