December 21 - 24, 1973 Christmas Eve

Friday, December 21, 1973 RAIN, TABLE AND CHAIRS

Everything is all upside down this miserable day. I got a lot to do and no way to do it. I washed, done refrigerator. Bill came home and is all done at that job. Well in p.m. Betty and I to town to shop. She and Walt bought at Thurlow’s a brand-new table, Moosehead and three chairs. It was for a Christmas gift and it is beautiful. We all like it so much. Betty and Walt up to see it tonight and Esther and Cliff.

A nice day. Very cold. I baked beans. I like the new table very much. Done some washing. Billie home all day. Hustling and bustling, getting ready for Christmas. Kids down to Christmas play rehearsal.

I done up my regular work. Changed the beds. Cleaned up the house. Made fudge, candy, worked all day. After supper I went to the ME church Sunday school entertainment with Betty and Walt. The children had a very nice program. Carmen, Kim and Zak had parts. I enjoyed it very much. Billie went with Lawrence. I washed and ironed.

Monday, December 24, 1973 Jeff gone to Michigan, DAVE AND DOROTHEA here all night

A beautiful day. I got up early and did a big day’s work. Took bath, went to town. Got an early supper. Went down to Ferns, also the Horton’s and Deming’s were there. They opened the guests then we had refreshments, then all came up to our house. Dorothea and Dave were here, we opened our gifts and also the Horton’s and Deming’s were here. We had refreshments. Zak passed them out at Ferns. Kimmy here passed out the gifts. About 12:30 Dorothea and I went down to Betty and Walt’s. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus were working hard in the kitchen getting the gifts ready for the tree. It looked very nice. Bill, Billie and I got many nice useful gifts. We are very pleased with them. Billie went with Lawrence again today.
