September 15 - 17, 1973 ZACK turns 4

Saturday, September 15, 1973 ZACK 4 years, cloudy

I done regular work, made some bread and rolls and baked some white beans. In late p.m. Dorothea and Dave came. We got ready and went to Betty and Walt’s for Zachary’s birthday. He was four. Walter Ambrose Horton IV. We, Yates, Demings, Thomases, Crooks all supper guests. Then Zak opened his many gifts and had ice cream and cake. Very nice. It has been cloudy today.

Sunday, September 16, 1973

Partly cloudy. I done regular work. Billie gone with Lawrence. Betty, Walt, Kim and Zak away at a horse show. Carmen came up here in p.m. She and I played croquet. Late in p.m. Bill and I went for a ride. Not too warm today.

Monday, September 17, 1973 sunny, windy, Bill worked at B.

On the cool side. I did some washing. A very nice day. I went with Betty and Zak to Sebago to see a horse. In p.m. we cleaned her deep-freeze. Bill worked painting the play house. Stan called and got into the ditch down by Betty’s driveway.
