Wednesday, August 15, 1973

Rainy. We went to Portland today shopping for school clothes. Betty had quite good luck. It has rained. Dorothea went with us.

Thursday, August 16, 1973

Kind of cloudy. Esther over early in a.m. She went down to Betty’s to see the new clothes we got yesterday for kids. She stayed all day. Bill, Kim and I went to Westbrook and took some vegetables down to Dorothea. Bill mowed lawns in p.m. Billie mowed tonight.

Friday, August 17, 1973

Today I worked at Betty’s. She mowed lawns. We moved the chest down into her shed chamber where it is dry. Bill took me to town at noon. Betty to town before supper.

Saturday, August 18, 1973

Kind of cloudy when we got up but it cleared and was hot. I made beans, rolls and a pie and tarts. Lloyd called and Robert. We moved the rug back down cellar and settled it. Billie picked garden things. Billie finished mowing lawns etc.
