Thursday, July 12, 1973 a very nice sunny cool day, Bill began shingling

Dorothea up early this morning. She made some brownies, packed picnic lunch. I got up, got breakfast. We got ready and Bill Walker came and then Betty and Zak. We left about 8:45 and we went to East Stoneham and located the old cellar hole where my father’s birthplace was. Then Uncle George Allen house. Betty and Dorothea found some old things. Then we called at the (?) Butters place and talked with a lady who was the wife of (blank) Butters, a distant cousin. Then we called at Aunt Sadie’s old place. Then drove out to North Stoneham, had picnic lunch and then travel to the foot of Speckle Mountain. We didn’t locate any graveyards though. Had a good time. Zak was traveling right along with us. He was so cute. Dorothea got home early and Betty and I made root beer.

Friday, July 13, 1973 Kim for checkup, $50

A nice day. Cool and breezy. I was down to Betty’s all day. She took Kimmy into the cardiac clinic. She is doing quite well. She has to be checked at least once each year until she is 12 years then the doctor expects she will have to have another operation. I done Betty’s housework. Bill shingling the barn.

Saturday, July 14, 1973 letter from George

Heavy thundershowers this morning. Rain and all. It cleared away about noon and was a nice day. Quite hot. Dolores came home today from the hospital. Today we got a letter from George, they are coming next Friday. Bill and Walt worked on the barn. Lloyd, Lawrence Boynton, Esther and Betty called. Kim, Zak and Esther and Cliff after supper. Bill and I went for a little ride after supper. Carmen played with Cathy.
