September 28 - October 1, 1971 Checking out the New Maine Mall

Tuesday, September 28, 1971

I went to Portland with Betty. We called at Dorothea’s. She went with us as we went to the brand-new Maine Shopping Mall. It was very nice. I hope to go shopping there someday. Betty bought a brand-new dress for the banquet Saturday night. Dorothea and Jeff came up to Barbara’s and called in evening. David on New York trip for Merrill.

Wednesday, September 29, 1971

It has been a cloudy day, no wind or rain. It was kind of warm. I washed, clothes dried good. I went down to Betty’s a little while. I may cookies and a pie. I washed, ironed etc. Bill worked at Gordon’s. Fern, Lloyd called after supper.

Thursday, September 30, 1971

I was at Betty’s all day. She mowed lawns. I did some odds and end jobs for her. She has been so busy all this week.

Friday, October 1, 1971

Betty to Portland with Kim to the clinic for Kim’s heart condition. They told Betty her weight is going down and they will operate soon. I worked at Betty’s, cleaned up her house etc. to get ready for her company this weekend. Classmates. We all are quite sick up about Kim and this operation. Bill working for Gordon this past week. Billie likes his work better.
