Santa Came

Nanny's Grandkids - Jeff, Zak, Carmen and Kim

Clear, cold and windy. Up early. Got work done up and went down to Betty and Walt’s for the Christmas day. Fern, Lloyd were there and the Thomas family. Dorothea and Dave stayed there all night. First they opened up the gifts. What an awful lot of nice and useful gifts. The kids were also pleased and excited. This year Zak was all excited and very cute. At 12:30 we all sat down to a very bountiful meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, turnip, onions, shell beans, salad. Rolls, dark bread, celery, pickles, olives, custard pie, pecan pie, whipped cream cake, corn balls, nuts, grapes and candy. All was so good. Had a very nice day. Bill, Billie and I took tree out today. Had a sandwich at night. Deming’s called in PM.

Sunday, December 26, 1971

A nice mild sunny day. Didn’t do much. Billie went with Lawrence and Butch. Bill and I called at Fern and Lloyd’s. Walt and family over there also. No one here all day. Just sat around reading papers etc. Got supper. I washed, clothes dried good.

Monday, December 27, 1971

Up about 7 AM. Got breakfast, done regular work. In p.m. called on Fern and Lloyd and to see Delores. In evening Es called while Cliff and Billie went to a meeting. Betty and kids up too. Bill is very lame.
