Saturday, July 17, 1971 Black Top driveway
A very nice hot day. Mr. Nelson and crew came and put in our
new black top driveway. We like it very much. I did regular work, made some
rolls. In early evening we had some bad thundershowers, a lot of rain.
Sunday, July 18, 1971 Dorothea took will will Jeff to his
Boy Scout camp
A nice day. I done up regular work, got ready, went to town
with Betty. Came home, got things together, went down to Betty’s for a cookout
for Walt’s birthday. Had a good time. Ragers, Deming, Yates, Crooks, Thomases
and Hortons. Walt got a lot of gifts. Billie picked peas. Carmen and Kim went
down to Dorothea’s till Tuesday. We like the new driveway.
Monday, July 19, 1971
A partly cloudy day. It clouded up in late p.m. and it
rained hard rest of early evening and late tonight. We got over an inch. I went
to North Windham with Betty, came home, shelled beans, got supper. Went over to
Bob’s and Pats for Pat’s birthday. I went with Betty. Walt came home sick.
Billie worked for Lawrence.
