Wednesday, October 21, 1970 Called about TV

Partly cloudy. I went down to Betty’s to stay with Zak while she took Kimmy to school. I washed. Bill home today with a lame arm. In p.m. Betty, Kim and I went down to see Carmen. Betty, Walt and Pa had a brand-new Case Tractor come today. In evening I babysat at Betty’s and then later Billie and I called on Fern, her birthday. Es and Cliff there too. Cliff worked on his garage today. Sue and Es to Norway. Carmen not very good.

Thursday, October 22, 1970

Cloudy and rain starting just before dark. Bill home again today. Betty and I down to see Carmen, she isn’t at all good. We’re quite concerned. Esther stayed with kids while we went to the hospital. Walt’s carpenter came today. They got a lot done today. I stayed with kids while they, Bett and Walt, went to see Carmen. A man came to see about Bill’s car.

Friday, October 23, 1970 Rain

It rained hard all night and today and evening. I went to town with Betty in p.m. In evening I went to town and done my shopping. Then Bill came home and went to hospital with Betty to see Carmen. I stayed with Kim and Zak. Walt and guy worked late. There were three or two besides Walt. Billie came home with a bad toe. He dropped heavy steel on it. All swollen and dark.
