I worked at Dorothy’s. Carmen has been very sick all day. They took her to the doctors after supper. She has Scarlatina, a form of Scarlet Fever. Her temperature was high.

Saturday, June 21, 1969

Billie worked for Lawrence. Bill mowed lawns and cultivated garden. I baked beans, made bread and rolls. In evening Dorothea and Jeff called. Carmen much better, her fever down. She stayed on the couch all day.

Sunday, June 22, 1969

Up kind of early. Carmen much better this morning.

Monday, June 23, 1969

It was cloudy and it rained. Did up the work. Got my papers all read, did a dite of cooking. It was partly fair in a.m. Rained in p.m. We looked at a place today.
