Wednesday, September 16, 1964

Woke up in Scotland this morning. Slept all morning until 9 AM. Got up, had breakfast. George, Bill and I took off and went to town. Bill and I to the bank and got some British money. We stopped in some of the pastry shops, went to the pub and had a drink. Wow. Came home, had dinner, it was raining so we looked at the pictures and snaps we brought. George and B enjoyed them, also looked at theirs. In evening we went out to a pub again, had a very nice evening.

Up about 8 AM, had breakfast. Got ready and left about 10 AM. We went to Perth, Creiff, Killin, ?Forrally, ?Panoch and Forfar and back to Dundee. We visited Lake Earn, Loch Tay, Taymouth Castle. Saw a thatched roof house, the Queen’s View and the tall hedge of 5840 foot long and 5 foot high. It was a wonderful day. We took many pictures on the way and home at 9 PM. Only 4 PM at home.

Got up early in a.m., wind blowing and quite cold. We had breakfast, got ready, headed north. Went up through and over top of mountains. Up through Devil’s Elbow then Linn O’Dee, Balmoral Castle and visited the Queen’s church. Where she goes to church when she is in Scotland on holiday. Also at the Balmoral Castle is where she stays. Wonderful. On to Aberdeen which is a city as large or larger than Boston. Very interesting. Saw Marischal College, back down the coast of North Sea into Forfar where Bill was born. Had a wonderful dinner at the ski lodge. Took pictures of Bill and all of us in the kilt. Fun. Ate supper in Arbendeen.
