October 1- 4, 1964

Thursday, October 1, 1964

Another nice day. Bill and I up at 8:30. Peg had breakfast. Peg to the doctors. I did the dishes then washed up and changed. Bill and I down town for the last time. Got a few things. Home, had dinner. Hilda ate with us then about 1:15 George came to get us. We got ready and left. Peg shed tears. Then we drove over to Beats to get our bags. Again tears were shed on the goodbyes. Had a wonderful time in Arbroath.

Friday, October 2, 1964

A very nice day. Got up at nine. Ate, washed and took Betty to work. Went from there to Dundee. Finished the shopping. A big city. Old one, nice stores. Came back to Broughty Ferry. Did some more shopping, had lunch. Back up for Betty. Then home again. Unloaded then took off, went to Forfar and to Kirriemuir. Did a dite of shopping. Had lunch then came home.

Saturday, October 3, 1964 Packed

Kind of cloudy. No beans tonight. I’ll be so glad to get home for baked red kidney beans and homemade biscuits and pies again. Packed this forenoon than done a little more shopping in Broughty Ferry in p.m. Home at supper. Watched TV while out to Ballaird Hotel where we had a round of drinks than out and had fish and chips down on the waterfront.

Sunday, October 4, 1964

A long last day here in Scotland. A good time has come to an end. We are ready for home, bathes taken and all.
