October 17 - 20, 1963

Thursday, October 17, 1963

Another nice beautiful day. I churned. Then we took off for Portland. Betty shopped for herself. She is the most pleased girl I have ever seen in a long time. I like so much to see her happy. She dressed up and went to town to show them off. She is so proud and happy. She got shoes, sneakers, slacks and slippers and a jacket.

Another hot dry day. I worked all day. Cleaned up the kitchen. Betty don’t seem to be too well. She and I to town after I got supper and got the dishes washed. Then Betty back to town. Got a card from Deming’s. Julie Conant called and Fern and Lloyd.

I like to have her have a good time. A letter she got from Mike. A nice one and she is glad. Mike’s letter. Bill and I got a pretty card from Adair’s. Dolores called, Kennard and Blanche. Fern here for supper. Heifer went to the slaughterhouse.
