Sunday, August 5, 1962

Partly cloudy in a.m. Cleared in p.m. and very hot. We got up late, finally got the work done. Spent rest of the day getting supper and doing dishes. Kids all had a good time. Timmy is cute. Kennie, Dot called. Nola Raye called. Fern, Lloyd called and Blanche. Kids downtown after supper.

Monday, August 6, 1962

A very nice day. Foggy in a.m. Became very hot. I washed. Milan and Betty to town, and got some groceries. Got supper, made two Apple pies. In evening Billie and Milan over to Lewiston to get some parts for Milan’s car. Kids and I played croquet. Letter from Dorothea. Picked our first cukes today.

Tuesday, August 7, 1962

Partly cloudy all day, in late PM showers. I did a big ironing. I wrote to Esther. Milan and Betty gone away today. I’ve been very busy all day. Kids played cards in evening. And Randy Harmon came and they all gone out for a soda. Picked cukes.

Wednesday, August 8, 1962 Corn

A nice day. Sunny and warm. Cleaned up the house today. Milan, Betty, Norma and Linda all went away for the day. I made a pie. Had corn tonight. For supper Betty and Milan presented me with a birthday cake, cards and $3 in money. Billie gave me $10, Mama gave me $5 total $18. Betty, Mike and Parks a radio and cards. In late p.m. a big shower.
