20 below, cold all day. I cleaned up my chambers. Delores called in p.m. and stayed for an hour or so.

Friday, February 9, 1962

10 above. Cloudy in late p.m. I’ve been at Fern and Lloyd’s all day. Fern very sick with a bad tooth. Her face and eye all swollen up. Came home for supper, to town and back down there till midnight. Uncle Os not too good. Blanche over here all day.

Saturday, February 10, 1962

15 below very cold. Billie worked all day. Bill and Gordon worked on the water pipes in the p.m. Got the cold water back into the sink. All new copper pipes. Sally and girls called. Betty had two letters from Mike. I got those off to her. Art Ward called. I went down and helped Fern a little this morning. Aunt Ava here while I was gone. Uncle Os not very good. 20 below. A nice quite cold day. Bill and Gordon worked on the pipes down cellar. Uncle Os not at all good. I went down to help them change his bed. Aunt Ava, Dot and Kennie called. I washed Uncle Os’s sheets. Uncle Os is slipping fast.
