20 above. Cloudy. I done up my work. Fern, Lloyd called. Kennard and Amy Linscott  and Dr.(?) Bishberger.  In evening Billie and I called at Fern and Kennard and Delores’s.

Wednesday, February 28, 1962

Up in the 30s. Cloudy. I done up the housework. Made a cake and beef stew. Blanche here in p.m. Snowed some today. We all got cards from Betty today.

Thursday, March 1, 1962

After 3 days of cloudy snow and sleety weather we have a nice day. It has been very warm these past days tho. It has cleared today and colder, also windy. Kennard has been up here all day shoveling our porch roofs, also cut all the ice off, did a good job. A big celebration in New York City for John Glenn Junior. Also a bad plane crash. 97 killed.

Friday, March 2, 1962 Betty and Mike called

Cold and windy. Blanche and I went to Portland. It was so awful cold and windy. A nice sunny day tho. Fern up here and stayed with Mama. I got this diary today. Also got writing tablets and envelopes. Betty and Mike called tonight. They have an apartment to move into. Need some money. Tonight Billie took me to town. We paid bills and more bills.
