Tuesday, August 15, 1961

A nice day. It was hotter than yesterday. I done up my work. In p.m. Thena, Uncle Lewis and I went to Portland to see Aunt Ava. She is coming along real good. Dr. said he didn’t think he would have to operate. Betty home all p.m. She got supper. Uncle Lewis here tonight.

Wednesday, August 16, 1961

Dry, on the cool side. A nice day. Except cool and very dry. Need rain now. Betty home and downtown. I done up the general work. Made an orange pie and chocolate pie. Uncle Lewis here tonight again, it was late when we got him over here. Bill up to Irene’s to fix her pump. Betty making a few plans for marrying. Billie has a bad toothache.

Thursday, August 17, 1961

Another dry day. Warm. Joy and children came over. Billie to dentist, had a bad toothache. Dr. Taylor drilled it. Betty home, didn’t ride much. I washed and ironed. Made a cake, cleaned up the downstairs.

Friday, August 18, 1961

I done up my work, went to town. Billie and I pick some things from the garden. Billie got things done up today so as to be ready to go to the fair tomorrow.
