February 2 - 5, 1961



Thursday, February 2, 1961

20° below this morning. A very clear day and the old groundhog saw the shadow so we have six more weeks of winter. I washed today. The temperature got up so was a little warmer today, 12 above. Betty came home with Bill tonight. I got some rubber gloves from Esther today.



Friday, February 3, 1961 Pipes frozen at barn

Zero this morning. It was such a cold air. The water pipes at the barn were frozen. Billie had to water from house. I done up the work etc. got ready to go to town in evening. Dot and Aunt Ava called in p.m. $33.


Saturday, February 4, 1961

Cold this morning, but we had a snowstorm, not too bad here. But Boston and other towns in Massachusetts also places in Connecticut New York. The storm was very very bad. Betty up to Mrs. Parker’s today. I cooked. Betty to town in evening. They tried to thaw out the pipe but couldn’t. Raymond over for supper tonight. He isn’t very well. He enjoyed being over.



Sunday, February 5, 1961

10° below this morning. Warmed up during the day. Done up the work. Bill, Betty and I down to Dawn’s in p.m.
