November 5 - 8, 1960 Election Day



Saturday, November 5, 1960

A very nice sunny day. I cleaned the sitting room. Done up the work. Billie worked at Chet’s for a few hours. He also fixed the raspberries. Billie didn’t work at all today because he worked two night’s first of the week. Bill fixed the radiator on the tractor. Betty to town in evening. Dawn, Steve and Dawn’s friend and her son called.



Sunday, November 6, 1960

Very nice in a.m. I washed all the outside windows. Billie put the storm windows on. Bill fixed up the backside of the barn. Betty done some study. Got two calls from Mike on the phone. A little trouble I surmise. Betty to town. She came back very happy. I hope it was because she saw Mike. Raymond called. Kennard, Fern, Lloyd, Bob, Blanche, Kennie and Dot.



Monday, November 7, 1960

I washed. A very cold day. Clothes froze as I hung them on the line. Rowena came up with Betty. In evening Linda came up. They studied.



Tuesday, November 8, 1960 ELECTION DAY

John Fitzgerald Kennedy is our new US president. A very nice day. Cold. I churned, done a very big ironing. Betty home for supper. When Bill and I went down to vote she went down to Rowena’s for the night. I’m going to set up till late.
