November 24 - 26, 1960 Happy Thanksgiving



Thursday, November 24, 1960 Thanksgiving

A very nice day. Bob, Blanche and Kennard here for dinner. We had Turkey, roast pork, gravies, squash, turnip, shell beans, onions, pickles, cranberry sauce. Rolls, Graham nut bread, mashed potato, salad, custard, date filled and lemon sponge pie. Whipped cream cake, chocolate cake made by Blanche, suet pudding. Aunt Ava, Rayburn called in late p.m. Kay up and stayed all night. Art Ward called, also Milan and Betty called us on the phone.



Friday, November 25, 1960 John F. Kennedy Jr. born

A nice day, some cloudy. John Fitzgerald Kennedy Junior born about 15 minutes after midnight. Well I done up the housework, got things back in place. I washed. Mike came up. He and Betty down hunting. Came back, had supper. Then they went to town. Back early in evening. Mike stayed all night, they watched TV. Billie home all day. We went to Ferns in p.m. for a little while. Billie done some business he had to do. Chet called in p.m.






Saturday, November 26, 1960

A nice day. I cleaned up the house in forenoon, washed windows and floor in the kitchen. Betty and Mike got up about eleven. Got their breakfast, then they went to town. Mike is sure a nice smart young man. I hope he and Betty will always be together (what is to be will be). It’s not for me to say. Blanche called in a.m. In late p.m. Rowena and Chris Larson called. Betty came with them. Betty down to Rowena’s and to town tonight. We are having the very best of weather. Billie worked at Chet’s. Bill worked at Jim’s in p.m.
