Cleaned up chambers. It was cloudy and showery today. We watched the convention in evening.



Thursday, July 28, 1960

A nice day, good temperatures. I cleaned up the bedrooms, washed, cooked, picked string beans. Evelyn Ridlons called. The Republican convention ended tonight, very interesting. I have enjoyed it so much. The Huntley and Brinkley coverage was very good and I enjoyed the Democratic one too.



Friday, July 29, 1960 DOROTHEA’S BIRTHDAY

Good temperatures. A very nice day. I picked another mess of peas. 3rd mess peas. I ironed, done some other odd jobs. Brud and children called. Mama over to Harrison with Brud. Bill and I to town in the evening. Kennard called. Dorothea 23 years today. We got a LETTER to from her today.


Saturday, July 30, 1960

Mike has been in town all this week. What an awful day this is been. It was the outside fringe of Hurricane Brenda. Been busy all day. Norma Gay came this morning for two weeks vacation. Bill over to Jim’s is p.m. In evening Bill and I down to Jean’s. Kids went to the movies.
