Thursday, July 4, 1957 Quite Hot

Hot again today. I cooked, washed and churned. Betty down to the carnival in p.m. Blanche and Joy called here for supper. Mama came home today from Ferns. Betty worked at Irene’s today. Billie and Bill worked today. Billie done chores for Raymond while he and Kennie went up fishing in northern Maine. Donnie better.

Friday, July 5, 1957

Rained hard in morning. Bill was supposed to go to work early. He took me down to clean up the Dearborn’s cottage. Later he and I took Kennard downtown and we all did our shopping together, went over to Jim Chadbourne’s and over to Harrison. In evening Billie and I went over to Jims. Bill and I picked 2 quarts strawberries tonight. Donnie still better.

Saturday, July 6, 1957

A nice day, cool and sunny. I cleaned up the house. Betty to town and bought her a skirt. Charlie and Jean called and got some eggs. Billie and I over to Jim’s and got some peas. Bill went to work early. Donnie quite good today.

Sunday, July 7, 1957

A nice day. Sunny, not too hot. I got dinner, had our last batch of strawberries and cream. Billie mowed hay at Chets. In p.m. I wrote letters. Fern, Lloyd came up brought up my check $15 from Seavers. Billie and I called at Ervin’s a minute.
