Cold, cloudy day. I wrote letters. Billie raked some more. I mended and looked through catalogs. No word from Mama today.

Thursday, April 14, 1955

I cleaned the shed chamber. Fair most of the day. Billie did some more raking. No word from Mama today.

Friday, April 15, 1955

A nice warm day. Betty came home for dinner to get dressed for her grade entertainment. Kail came with her. Fern went to the show with me. Billie took us down, we had the car oiled and greased today. Mama operated on today. Had a bad day. Billie finished raking today. This operation was much worse for Mama. Had a bad day.

Saturday, April 16, 1955

Cleared off nice and clear. Cold. Bill, Fern, Lloyd and I went to Portland to see Mama. She had a bad day yesterday. Fair condition today. Bob called this morning. Bill got his suit at Tom Taylor’s today. And a lightweight jacket. I got a pair corselets.
