November 30 - December 6, 1946 Firing Up The New Furnace!

Saturday, November 30, 1946

Very cold. Bob and Billie hauled some shavings for pigs and barn. Billie worked up to Chet’s. Bill and I went to town and got pipes for furnace.

Sunday, December 1, 1946

Finish setting up the new furnace and started a fire. Fern and Lloyd came up in eve. Nice hot water.

Monday, December 2, 1946

Light snow last night. Cold and squalls forenoon. We washed and a terribly cold day. An awful windy day.

Tuesday, December 3, 1946

Still cold this morning, but no wind. Warmed up a little. I ironed.

Wednesday, December 4, 1946

Cleaned up the house. Much warmer. We cooked a little.

Thursday, December 5, 1946

Cloudy and cold. Bill bought oil. Mama down to Dot and Forrest’s. Fern and Lloyd called in eve. We had a yellow cat come to us.
