Snowed. Bill and Billie went to town. Bill bought me a very pretty box of Valentine chocolates..... (apparently they did ..... even in 1944!)


Sunday, February 13, 1944

Kennie and Dot came up and kids. Bob and Joy. Kennard and Dolores all called on us. Bill home. Raymond came over in eve.


Monday, February 14, 1944

Billie and Dorothea went to school, got a lot of valentines. Betty got some in the mail to. I washed. Cold.


Tuesday, February 15, 1944

Did regular work. Awful wind blow.


Wednesday, February 16, 1944

I went to beauty parlor. got a permanent wave. Baby has bad cold. Mama sick too. Dorothea home. 9 doz S.Y.


Thursday, February 17, 1944

Betty 1 year old today. She is sick with cold. Mama sick to. Billie to school. Dorothea home. I talked with Miss Gould. Warm tonite.


Friday, February 18, 1944

Washed, machine broke again. Dorothea went down to Ferns to stay til Sun. Talked with Jean. Charlie up to hear Fred Wooly (?) speech.
